Adidas Launch Five Ten Prime Blue MTB Shoes

Adidas acknowledge the role manufacturers can play in solving plastic pollution in our ocean. With their latest MTB shoe release, riders now have choice between standard shoes made from virgin materials, and the Five Ten Primeblue shoes made from recycled materials (50% of the upper is textile, 75% of the textile is Primeblue yarn. No virgin polyester.)

Primeblue
is a high-performance recycled material made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic—upcycled plastic waste.

Parley Ocean Plastic® is created from upcycled marine plastic waste that is intercepted from remote islands, beaches and coastal communities. Adidas (who own Five Ten) use it as a replacement for virgin plastic in the making of their adidas x Parley high-performance sportswear. After collecting plastic waste from coastlines, it's baled and sent to Parley supply chain partners. There it's shredded and reworked to become high-performance polyester yarn: Parley Ocean Plastic™, which is then used to create adidas x Parley sportswear.
